DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach occupational preparatory classes within a career and technical education program.

Performs other duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must hold the Rank III Kentucky teaching certificate in the subject area to be taught;

OR

Must hold a Kentucky Statement of Eligibility in the subject area to be taught;

OR

Four years of appropriate work experience, two of which must be in the last five years.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Current certification, registration, and/or licensure in the following occupations – registered nurse, physician assistant, medical laboratory technology, radiology technology, or respiratory therapy.

SALARY: Dependent on rank and experience

In accordance with KRS 161.220, the applicant selected for this position will become a member of the Teachers' Retirement System.

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE) operates 50 Area Technology Centers (ATCs) which serve 115 local feeder districts. A state Area Technology Center (ATC) is a secondary state operated school facility dedicated to the primary purpose of offering state approved four (4)-course Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways within CTE program areas identified by the OCTE. The Area Technology Centers under the Office of Career and Technical Education are organizationally part of the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), a service agency within the Commonwealth of Kentucky under the Education and Workforce Development Cabinet. KDE supports the ATCs through guidance, resources, and oversight as part of its broader mission to ensure success for every student in Kentucky's P-12 public education system.

This position is advertised as part of KRS Chapter 156 OCTE for employment through the Office of Career and Technical Education. It is not subject to the provisions of KRS 18A for classified or unclassified service.​
