The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Special Education and Early Learning, Division of State Schools, has an opening for a KSB/KSD Maintenance Manager at the Kentucky School for the Blind in Louisville.​

​Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Supervises, plans, schedules and directs the work duties of Maintenance Staff in maintaining buildings and grounds.

Inspects employees work upon completion of duties.

Conducts inspections of buildings and grounds to determine maintenance needs, safety hazards, and to assure cleanliness.

Inspects mechanical room for general maintenance needs.

Purchases needed supplies, equipment, and services.

Maintains an inventory of supplies and equipment.

Prepares time and attendance reports.

While residing at the Kentucky School for the Blind responsible for oversight of state-owned assets and promotes effective deterrence and resolution of emergencies.

Manages security guard contracted services.

Coordinates and works with major maintenance projects.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Education:
High school graduate.

Experience, Training, or Skills:
Seven years of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services, or mechanical maintenance experience.
 
Substitute Education for Experience:
Formal training in industrial arts, horticulture, building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, mechanical engineering, or a related field will substitute for the experience on a year-for- year basis.

Substitute Experience for Education:
Experience in one of the above or related fields will substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

Gross Monthly Salary Range: $3,960.94 - $5,169.46
