District Health Coordinators Briefcase

Kentucky superintendents are required by 702 KAR 1:160 to assign someone the duties of District Health Coordinator (DHC). Information and policy is provided here that may assist DHCs as they perform their duties.​

Registration is now open for Kentucky Department of Education's annual district health coordinator meeting.  This year's meeting will be held on Thursday, September 7th at the Kentucky Department of Education at 300 Sower Blvd., 1st Floor Training Center, Frankfort, KY 40601 from 8:30 AM to 3:30 ET

This year's meeting will be an in-person meeting and will not be livestreamed to allow us to provide more direct support to newer  district health coordinators. 

Registration is free of charge and district health coordinators who are unable to attend, may send a representative on their behalf.

 Diabetes in Kentucky Schools Training 

In accordance with KRS 158.838, Kentucky Schools both public and private, should have a staff member present trained in the signs and symptoms of hypo and hyperglycemia, treatment of those conditions and on the administration of both Glucagon and Insulin.  KRS 158.838 does not specify what training program should be used other than it should be fully consistent with training programs and guidelines developed by the American Diabetes Association
