In 2021, the Kentucky Department of Education convened a Facilities Task Force to review all aspects of school facilities for improving processes and systems. This task force included 35 school district members, 9 staff at the Kentucky Department of Education, and held 21 meetings. Additionally, the recommendations were provided to over 700 other people including facilities directors, finance directors, architects, fiscal agents and superintendents for feedback.
The Kentucky Department of Education is currently reviewing all recommendations and will be providing additional information to the Kentucky Board of Education in the upcoming months related to changes and enhancements in the facilities process.
