The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Special Education and Early Learning (OSEEL), Kentucky School for the Deaf (KSD) in Danville, KY has an opening for a statewide Outreach Consultant/Teacher position to support children who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing currently covering the Green River Regional Educational Cooperative.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide statewide outreach consultation, assessment services, professional development opportunities and support for children, families, district personnel, and community members to support children who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing.
Provide consultation and technical assistance to families, district personnel and/or service providers.
Provide or recommend resources/materials for families and other providers, collaborate with child's other service providers such as speech therapist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, etc. or assist other consultants.
Organize and lead Cadre meetings for Deaf and Hard of Hearing teachers and providers and in the Cooperative area.
Provide professional learning opportunities via parent and professional conferences, school level and educational cooperative presentations.
Organize, lead, and participate in regional or campus events centered upon an educational theme that is aligned to the State Standards and/or Expanded Core Curriculum.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A valid Kentucky Professional Certificate for Teaching Exceptional Children-Hearing Impaired, Grades Primary Through 12 and/or Communication Disorders or a similar license from anther state.
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
A minimum of three years of experience working with students who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing.

Applicants currently under contract with a local school district are required to provide a written release from their superintendent prior to an offer of employment will be given.
In accordance with KRS 161.220 the applicant selected for this position will become a member of the Teachers' Retirement System.
2024-2025 Salary: Dependent upon certification and experience. This position is a 187-contract day position.
