School Performance Ranking as Required by House Bill 6 (2024)

House Bill 6 (2024), which became effective upon passage, outlines the 2024-2026 State/Executive Branch budget.

House Bill 6 Reporting Requirements

In addition to providing details on budgetary appropriations, House Bill 6 includes new reporting requirements for school districts. House Bill 6 requires each local board of education and each school to prominently display information about their students' most recent performance on the Kentucky Summative Assessment on their websites.

Additionally, the Kentucky Department of Education must post a rank order by overall academic performance of all schools on its website.

Performance of schools is reported by level (elementary, middle, and high) based on an overall score that aggregates data from available indicators.

The school performance ranking for all schools is located in Open House.

For a more comprehensive perspective of the school, district, and state levels, the School Report Card (SRC) is published annually, providing insights into other assessment measures and accountability. Kentucky's SRC includes the online SRC portal, supplemental data available in Open House, and real-time data available to parents and students in the Campus Portal.
