The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Finance and Operations, Division of District Support, has an opening for an Assistant Director II position in Frankfort.​

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee all programmatic functions of District Financial Management Branch and District Funding and Reporting Branch, including management and direct supervision of staff.

Work with and provide support to the Director of the Division of District Support. Oversee personnel and implementation of programs within the division to ensure goals of the Kentucky Board of Education are being met as well as the strategic plan of the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE).

Oversee the work of the District Financial Management Branch and District Funding and Reporting Branch and provide supervision to Administrative Branch Managers within the branches. Manage all projects related to the assigned branches within the division. Provide direct supervision, including approval of leave requests and timesheets, and completion of performance evaluations of employees.

Serve as liaison between division and other agency organizational units within the department and outside agencies. Provide accurate and informative responses to various requestors such as legislatures, taxpayers, or school district personnel.

Perform duties of the director in the director's absence. Attend professional development opportunities to provide guidance and updates to promote staff and/or local district personnel growth on policies relating to school finance.

Interpret, analyze, and accurately apply state and federal statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining to school finance and make recommendations on the policies and procedures that support those requirements. Assist the director in the development and revision of regulations as needed. Facilitate and coordinate the development and implementation of division and agency initiatives.

Perform other duties as assigned.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
 
EDUCATION:

Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:

Five years of administrative or management experience, two of which must include direct supervision of personnel.

SUBSTITUTION:
 
EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:

A master's degree for one year of the required experience.

EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:

Additional administrative, management, or research experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Pay Grade: 19         
Gross Monthly Salary Range: $5,629.66 - $6,880.26
