CTE - Business Engineering Instructor

The Kentucky Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Early Learning, Division of State Schools, Kentucky School for the Deaf (KSD) in Danville (Boyle County) has an opening for a CTE/Business Engineering Instructor position.​

​DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and provide quality, rigorous instruction aligned to Career and Technical Program of Studies in Business Engineering to include:

Guide students to acquire related Industry Certifications.
Prepare students for employment by providing exposure and development of broad skillset.
Provide students with CNC Coding instructions.
Provide students with CNC Math instruction.
Provide students with 3D Printing instruction.
Provide students with Sublimation Printing instruction.

Oversee KSD Colonel Store and incorporate meaningful learning experiences for students as part of daily instruction.

Modify the general education curriculum as needed for students who are deaf or hard of hearing using a variety of evidence based instructional strategies.

Monitor and maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies and administrative regulations.

Confer with parents, administrators, colleagues, and other professionals to develop and implement individual education programs (IEP's)

Attend professional meetings and conferences, serve on committees as assigned and attend other training opportunities to maintain and improve professional competence.

Sponsor and attend extracurricular activities such as clubs, student organizations, academic contests, and athletic events.

Perform other duties assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have valid Kentucky Teaching Certification in technology education or occupation based teacher, Math, or Science grades 5-12. Proficiency in ASL preferred. Expected to attain SLPI rating of Intermediate within four years of employment as part of tenure consideration.

Applicants and employees in this classification may be required to submit to a drug screening test and background check.

Applicants currently under contract with a local school district are required to provide a written release from their superintendent prior to an offer of employment will be given.

In accordance with KRS 161.220 the applicant selected for this position will become a member of the Teachers' Retirement System.

2024-2025 Salary: Dependent upon education and experience.
