Coaching Coordinator – Transition Education Unit - MOA

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Special Education and Early Learning (OSEEL), Transition Education, has an opening for a Coaching Coordinator, in Franklin County.​

​PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Coaching Coordinator within the Transition Education Unit is responsible for the provision of training, coaching, and resources to K-12 educators across the state. This role emphasizes the enhancement of educational practices to improve the post-school outcomes for students with disabilities. The position supports the delivery of Tier II supports and assists educators involved in Kentucky's state personnel development grant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and implement training programs aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of K-12 educators in supporting students with disabilities, focusing on both general and specialized educational strategies.

Provide individual and group coaching to educators, aimed at improving their teaching practices and the implementation of Tier II supports.

Curate and disseminate educational resources and materials that support the learning and development of students with disabilities.

Work closely with local education agencies to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines for special education, providing guidance and support to maintain high standards of education for students with disabilities.

Engage with communities across Kentucky to foster partnerships and collaborations that support the educational and post-school outcomes for students with disabilities.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training and coaching initiatives, making adjustments as necessary to ensure the continuous improvement of educational practices.

Support the implementation and activities of Kentucky's state personnel development grant, ensuring alignment with the goals and objectives of the Transition Education Unit.

The Coaching Coordinator reports directly to the Administrator of the Transition Education Unit at OSEEL.

Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
 
Must be a graduate of a college or university with a master's degree in education or related field.

Must have five years of professional experience in education. Current Rank II or Rank I certification by the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board will substitute for the required educational requirement. Additional professional experience in the field of education will substitute for the required educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. 
 
Applicants and employees in this classification may be required to submit to a drug screening test and background check. 

Applicants currently under contract with a local school district are required to provide a written release from their superintendent prior to an offer of employment will be given. 

NOTE: This position is eligible for consideration for a hybrid schedule that allows for a combination of in-office and approved alternative work scheduling. The agency may terminate or modify the telecommuting arrangement at any time.
 
NOTE: This position will be filled through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The applicant selected for this position must be an employee of a Kentucky local school district or institution of higher education.
