School Improvement Funds (ESSA Section 1003)
Under section 1003(a) of the ESEA, a SEA is required to reserve a portion of its Title I allocation to assist LEAs that serve schools implementing comprehensive support and improvement plans or targeted support and improvement plans under ESEA section 1111(d). This page provides spreadsheets outlining the schools and districts that received funds, the amount of each sub-grant each school year and for 2019-20, the interventions or strategies implemented.
All CSI schools are required to implement evidence-based strategies and interventions. Additional information can be found on the Evidence-based Practices website. School Improvement Grants (NCLB Section 1003 (g))
These grants, authorized under section 1003(g) of Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965, as amended by the No Child Left Behind Act, were made to State Educational Agencies (SEAs) which in turn made competitive sub-grants to Local Education Agencies (LEAs).
Each link to the right will take you to a list of approved applications and any submitted amendments, separated by cohort, for funds remaining under these grants. The last of these grants will expire in 2020 and will not be renewed.
