​​National Student Privacy & Data Security Webinar Series

In April 2025, SPPO will host a three-day National Spring Webinar Series. See event details and registration information below.​

  • ​​​​April 16 - FERPA 101 and Data Security Best Practices, 2-4 p.m. (ET) covers the basics of FERPA and provides training on current data security best practices for education data systems.
  • April 23 - FERPA 201 and Transparency, 2-4 p.m. (ET) dives into scenarios faced by schools and districts and highlights PTAC’s research on transparency.
  •  April 30 - Incident Response and Vetting Educational Technology, 2-4 p.m. (E​​T) leads participants through a simulated data breach and explores how to assess online educational technology for privacy protections and general FERPA compliance.​

How to receive EILA credit for KSIS training
 
  1. Register for an EILA-eligible training session
  2. Participate in the live training either via Teams online meeting or in-person
  3. Complete the post-training survey and attendance self-attestation (Those who register will receive the survey after the training event.)
